Vacature Operator - 2 Shifts

Our customer is an international player that specializes in producing animal proteins for cosmetics, preservative and pet food.

Do you get energy from managing a production line? Moreover, do you know how to drive a forklift? Then you are the operator in the blood processing department we are looking for!

Your duties:

• You are responsible for the optimal functioning of your department.
• You are responsible for the process, from basic product to packing.
• You take care of the control of the department, both of the raw materials and of the packaging.
• You can solve technical faults like no other. If necessary, you will call in a technician.
• You describe setting up the machines as your passion.
• You are also responsible for the weekly cleaning of the department.

As an operator, you will experience a lot of variety in your job. Tasks such as cleaning up the department (with tractor and lance - + - 1h/day cleaning up), operating the machines and driving a forklift truck are part of your daily tasks.

How does the production process work?

• You pick up the pig skins in the refrigerator with the forklift and put them in the machine.
• The machine will eventually heat and cut them up so that the fat and moisture are gone.
• This leaves a sticky emulsion. This goes into the dryer and comes out as a kind of parchment paper.
• That "paper" goes into the machine to be ground into a dry pellet (collagen pellet).
• Finally, this grain is mixed again with water. This creates a sticky slightly dirtier substance.
