Function description

For our client in Veurne, we are looking for a CNC Operator.

Our client is an innovative and internationally growing company that develops high-end technological solutions for architectural projects worldwide. To support further growth, a new in-house production cell is being established in Veurne. Therefore, we are looking for a motivated CNC Operator who wants to help build and develop this new department.

As the first employee within this production cell, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines. You will manufacture highly precise brass components and play a key role in the development of the CNC department.

What will you do?

  • Set up, program, and operate CNC milling machines for the production of both small and large series of precision brass components.
  • Translate technical drawings into CNC programs, select the appropriate tooling and machine parameters, and guide the process from first prototype to serial production.
  • Perform quality inspections during production using measuring tools and document results according to specified tolerances.
  • Contribute to the development of the machining capability by advising on machine selection, tooling, and production methods.
  • Ensure machines continue to operate efficiently through autonomous and preventive maintenance.
  • Continuously improve setup times, cycle times, and reduce production losses as output increases.
  • Work closely with production, planning, and quality teams and provide feedback on product manufacturability.
  • Help shape quality standards, working methods, and technical expertise within a department that is expected to grow significantly in the coming years.

Requirements

Who are we looking for?

  • You have a technical degree in mechanics or equivalent experience.
  • You have at least 3 years of hands-on experience in CNC turning and/or CNC milling. Experience with brass or other non-ferrous metals is a strong advantage.
  • You are able to program CNC machines directly at the machine or through CAM software.
  • You are familiar with common control systems such as Fanuc, Siemens, or Heidenhain.
  • You can confidently read technical drawings and understand tolerances and surface finish requirements.
  • You work accurately and have a strong focus on quality.
  • You have an entrepreneurial, hands-on mindset and enjoy working in a pioneering role where you help build a new production environment.
  • Knowledge of Lean methodologies such as 5S, SMED, and TPM is considered an asset.
  • You communicate fluently in Dutch. Knowledge of English is an advantage.
